Medical Personnel: Care for health needs

Prayer Partners: Pray for safety

This year, B4B helped raise funds for Operation Bible, a program in partnership with the Canadian Forces providing military Bibles to soldiers. Rides took place in five provinces – Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario and Saskatchewan. In the British Columbia and Ontario Triple Shores rides alone, 58 riders cycled over 1,500 kilometres. (More updates will be posted as they come).

Funds raised will help provide dramatized audio New Testaments for Canadian soldiers and their families. Chaplain Deogratias comments, “It would be wonderful if our soldiers and their families received an audio New Testament – what a blessing this would be for them. I can’t even begin to imagine the impact this would make upon their lives.”

The B4B ride has also made an impact in the lives of our riders. Thea Hiemstra, one of our cyclists for the Triple Shores ride, shared,

Thea HiemstraThea HiemstraThe B4B was truly an amazing experience. I never thought that I would actually make it to the finish line. I knew that when I signed up that the distances covered were way beyond my comfort zone, but because of the connection to the cause, my dad being a WWII veteran and the 4 years I spent on an army base in Lahr, Germany, I felt compelled to go regardless (that's how the Spirit works).

Two verses from Scripture really helped me. Isaiah 43 vs. 1 to 4a and Philippians 4.13. I am so grateful to God to have shared in this remarkable experience. On the last day particularly when I really struggled, I remembered the sacrifices our military men and women and their families make every single day. I was thinking how hot and exhausting it must be for them and that they don't have the option of just quitting. It made me realize the effort, commitment and dedication of the troops. Here they are on the front lines and the only thing that can give them the hope, strength and encouragement they need is the Word of God.

May each kilometre that we pedaled be a witness that, through our spokes God does indeed speak! A special blessing to go out to all of the troops as they continue on their mission – “May God will be with you wherever you go.”

Together, we will impact the lives of Canada’s military families with The Word. For Life.
