What We Do

The Canadian Bible Society continues in its almost two-hundred-year commitment to making God's Word accessible to everyone. Around the world, CBS partners in translation and distribution projects with 145 national organizations in the United Bible Societies family. CBS is keenly focused on engaging the next generation with God's Word so that people everywhere have it, get it and live it!

Programs

Through various programs, CBS partners with ministries and organizations to share Gods Word with people in Canada and around the world. Whether it's Bible-a-Month or Operation Bible, we are at work every single day sharing God's Word.

Translation

Languages are living entities that go to the core of who we are. Because they change over time, Bible Society translation departments have to keep pace – working every single day to give tribes, peoples, languages, and nations access to God’s Word with a text that clearly transmits the full meaning of God’s message.

PublicatioN

While bringing to print the Bibles and Scripture portions that our translation team produces for Canada’s First Nations is at the heart of our publishing programs, we are also called to meet a number of others needs.

Distribution

While Scriptures are much more widely available in Canada today than they were 200 years ago when our ministry took its first fledgling steps, many challenges remain. Our distribution team strategically identifies and helps to meet these.

Word At Work magazine

Word at Work is the newly designed CBS magazine that is issued three times a year.  In each issue, we'll show you how CBS is working to share The Word. For Life. so that people everywhere read it, know it, love it!
