The Canadian Bible Society is sponsoring the GMA Scripture Song of the Year, for the second consecutive year. Songs in this category are adapted, derived or based upon Scripture from any Bible translation. At least 60% of the lyrical content must be closely based on scriptural reference(s). All musical styles and genres will be accepted.
PRIZE. The winner will receive a prize that includes:
• | A custom NovaScotian Crystal Award to be presented at the GMA Awards show. |
• | Complete 3-song EP recorded and mastered at AME Recording Studio, with session musicians. |
• | CDs for personal distribution and promotion of winning song. |

CONTEST RULES.There is no limit to the number of songs you submit. Each song must be registered through the online form and submitted electronically. If you choose to send in the songs on CD there will be a processing fee of $10.00 to cover the cost of converting the songs to mp3s for the judging process.
• | Songs should NOT exceed five (5) minutes in length. |
• | We highly encourage you to plan to be at the GMA Canada Conference event. |
• | All decisions made by the GMA Canada and its selected judges will be final. |
| The following must be submitted and received on or before October 8th, 2010: | |
1) | Official Registration through GMA Canada with all applicable fees. |
2) | Your song as a submitted mp3, as well as typed lyrics submitted as a pdf, word file, or txt file accompanying the submission form found online at gmacanada.ca. |
Canadian Bible Society SCRIPTURE SONG CATEGORY – Additional criteria:
• | At least 60% of the lyrical content must be closely based upon scriptural reference(s). |
• | If a song entered into the CBS Scripture Song category does not fit the scriptural criteria for that category, it will be automatically moved to the SONG category. |
• | Each song entered must include a scriptural reference and a description explaining the connection between the song and the Scripture, not to exceed 100 words. If the description is not included, the entry may be disqualified. |
• | Only ONE Scripture Song winner will receive the award and prizes. |
