Development Officer
Born and raised in London Ontario and has lived and served churches throughout south-western Ontario and in the Hamilton area.
After high school, Dave worked 8 years in banking then 8 years for the provincial government doing finance, administration and middle management. In 1981 left work to begin education for ministry at UWO and McMaster Divinity College where he earned 3 masters degrees M.Div., M.R.E, and M.Th. While at seminary, he served a small rural church in east Elgin county as pastor and after graduation he was called to Stoney Creek Baptist Church where he served for 11 years, before going to McMaster Divinity College as Director of Development and Recruiting. After 5 years at McMaster, Dave was pastor at First Baptist Woodstock and Egerton St Baptist Church, London. Dave came on staff with the Canadian Bible Society Jan 1 2009.
Dave has been moderator of Niagara-Hamilton Association of Baptist Churches, active on the council of Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec (CBOQ). Dave has also led workshops for CBOQ on Ministry and Technology, especially the Internet, and Computers in Ministry
Since 2003, Dave was a member of the board of directors for the Western Ontario District of the Canadian Bible Society, and for over three years a representative to the national Board of Governors serving as a sub-committee chairman, and as Vice Chair and Treasurer of the Board.
Dave’s hobby and favourite past time is GeoCaching, which involves using multi-billion dollar military satellites to look for Tupperware hidden in the woods.
Linda and Dave met at Baptist Camp Hermosa in Goderich and have been married 38 years. They have 3 grown children, Ed, Mark and Sarah.
