Major Lorne Pritchett was born 1956 in Gambo the eighth child of eleven to Curtis and Classie Pritchett. He moved with his family to Grand Falls-Windsor at the age of nine.
Prior to commencing his ministerial studies, Major Lorne worked with the Carmelite Hotel, Brookfield Ice Cream and the Department of Highways. He entered College for Officer Training in 1975 and was ordained in 1977. His first appointment was Seal Cove, White Bay.
In December 1977 he married Lieutenant Barbara Randell of Corner Brook. Their appointments took them to Seal Cove, White Bay; Griquet; Acton (pioneering), Ontario; Elliott Lake, Ontario; Huntsville, Ontario; College for Officer Training - Toronto; Secretary for Candidates- Territorial Headquarters, Toronto and then to St. John's Temple in 1994, from where they retired in January, 2003. Lorne is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Bible Society, Newfoundland and Labrador District.
The Pritchett's have two children, Elizabeth and John and two "grand dogs" - Jake and Peppin and a grand cat Squeeker.
Elizabeth, a graduate of Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador, is a high school teacher in Mount Pearl NL, and is married to Christan Murphy.
John is the district manager for Zellers in the Calgary area and is married to Michelle Burditt of Sault Ste. Marie. John and Michelle have one darling little boy, Josiah.
