Pierre Therrien

The Quebec District of the Canadian Bible Society covers a vast territory, stretching from the Magdalene Islands to James Bay and from Three Rivers to Nunavut. This region serves 39 First Nation reserves and 14 Inuit Communities out of the 11 First Nations in Quebec. Eleven local associates help in fundraising, assisted in their work by volunteers from their respective denominations.

Prior to his full-time work with the Society, Pierre served for 11 years in a volunteer capacity as a member of the District Board; six of those years he also served on the National Board. Professionally, he worked for three decades as a human resources consultant in the Quebec City area.

He is a graduate of Earl Nightingale Institute in Chicago and holds a Bible study certificate from the Faculty of Theology at Laval University.

"The Bible is the Word of the Lord. It is my light," says Pierre. "And it offers a plan for successful living. More that 20 years go, I determined to allow it to be my guide for the rest of my life."

Pierre loves his work with the Canadian Bible Society because, he says, "I love to serve the people. Serving the people; that's our main purpose here. We're here to serve, and to do so with enthusiasm and integrity, always looking to meet the needs of the whole Christian community."
