A United Church minister for 21 years prior to his work with the Bible Society he served three pastorates in Ontario at Emo, Selkirk and St. Marys. Along with a deep commitment to resourcing the work of scripture engagement within the church community he has also served on various recreation clubs, Rotary, a Citizen Advocacy Group and as a Board of Education trustee. Wib and his wife, Carol, have two grown children and an eight-year old granddaughter, Emma.
Wib says " I have come to that point in my personal theology where I understand and teach the Scriptures to be a record of God's search for humanity. For me, the Bible tells not only how God sought his people in the past, but also as a means by which and through which he seeks us out today. It is not simply ancient history, but is part of the living God in the rough and tumble of everyday experiences. In a real sense it is the script of the human drama in which we find ourselves intimately involved. I believe that if we take the bible seriously it is a powerful way in which God 'comes alive' and speaks to us as participants and not as spectators."
When not promoting the Bible Cause, Wib also enjoys nature photography, gardening, video editing, and reading.
